It sounds as if you are off to a glorious start. We are eaglerly awaiting your postings! Thank you very much for letting us know you arrived in Athens safely.

We have a friend whose brother and his family are living in Crete for the year (his wife is from Crete and her family still lives there). I will have contact information this afternoon to forward, just in case you should need any help from knowledgeable locals.

Yiasas (it literally means “to your health” but it is used as a greeting)
I am a friend and colleague of Katie’s father.
I was born in Athens and left Greece when I was 17 years old.
I know you all will be changed (to the better) because of this trip.
It is very exiting to me to see my country through your eyes and experiences!!
I am looking forward to more writings…

  7. Katie, What a wonderful opportunity! I would like to be a mouse in your pocket. Keep watch for any mention of the Muses (I am one!) and their frolics on Mt. Helicon. Athena gave Pegasus to them and he struck the rock of Mt. Helicon with his hoof causing the Hippocrene Spring to gush forth.
    Keep on enjoying! Love, Thalia
